So while we love our engaged couples more than words can explain, we also have to give the Married couples some props. Sixpence couples or not, being married couples are amazing. It’s tough but also fun, crazy and exciting. Spending the rest of your life with someone who knows you like the back of their hand…. It’s quite the commitment!
So we’ve decided to host a contest to celebrate those of you who have already tied the knot!

Maria & Clayton – by Jackie [Sixpence Weddings - DFW Dallas Area Wedding Photographer]

We shot Maria and Clayton’s wedding several weeks ago, but I’ve become notorious for previewing weddings immediately on facebook then forgetting to blog about them. LOL

So here is my official blog post about Maria and Clayton.

Maria and Clayton met up with us quite a bit before their event to look over contracts and such. Kandice and I hit it off with Maria immediately, and we spent months looking forward to their wedding. First off, the location was amazing. Second, we adore live entertainment. And last but not least, when you meet Maria and Clayton, you know to expect a fun bridal party

When we arrived at Shaena’s apartment (one of the bridesmaids), the girls were getting their makeup finished up and were about ready to get dressed.

When Maria’s dad came in, no one could hold back the tears!

And the ceremony was a beautiful, traditional Catholic ceremony.

We snuck in a few detail shots when we arrived at the reception, before heading in to the party

At the reception, each person in attendance received a chocolate letter N (the last initial they now share )

Maria and Clayton cut into their bridal cake first…

before welcoming all the kids in the family up to help cut and toast the Sooner cake!

Then off for a little dancing

Last, we snuck off for some quiet pics of the bride and groom, and one must-have Beatles inspired photo of the groomsmen with Maria.

Thanks for having us, Maria and Clayton! We had such a wonderful time!

Michael & Mary – by Jackie

A few weeks ago, Kandice and I had the pleasure of seeing Michael and Mary on their special day! The event was simple and elegant, and I loved the unique and beautifully vibrant color palette they used for the dresses and decor (aqua and red).

Michael and Mary own Crossfit Rockwall and are very health conscious people. I loved that not only was every food served at their reception healthy (they even served cookies instead of cake), but they also vowed to stand by each other “through good workouts and bad!” Adorable!

Another really cool thing is that the maid of honor (shown in the first photo, assisting the bride) was *amazing* and quilted what seemed like dozens of small quilts to use as runners and table coverings, which matched the wedding decor. It was an awesome way to incorporate something perfectly matched and hand made, which they can then take home and keep forever!
