Jacqueline Reitz Photography – the Blog! bio picture

Welcome

Welcome to the Jacqueline Reitz Photography blog!

Hi, my name is Jackie and I'm the Owner and Lead Photographers at Jacqueline Reitz Photography. I'm also Co-Owner of Sixpence Weddings which also serves the DFW area (and beyond). I'm a Mom of 2 (Brendan is nearly 5, Lily is 2). I find that my passion and interest for photography only grows with each newborn I photograph, each family I get to interact with, and each wedding I'm fortunate enough to witness. My work is a pretty easy to detect style; Modern with vibrant colors and a mixture of spontaneous images and casual posing. I work with everything from maternity and newborn through high school seniors, weddings and professional models. I am proud to announce that Sixpence Weddings was recently named one of the Top 5 Wedding Photographers in Dallas.

Also, be sure to check out the links above. If you click on "portfolio", you can check out my website which features photographs of births, maternity, newborns, children, families, engagements/couples, seniors/models, and weddings.

August Mini Sessions – McKinney Cotton Mill – August 28th

It’s that time of year again!

Time to think about booking photos for your holiday cards.

As you all know, each year I do 1-2 mini session dates where I take dozens of sessions in one day at a really awesome location so that as many of you as possible can get your holiday photos done.

Last year I shot at the McKinney Cotton Mill and I’m still madly in love with the rustic but unique look of this location. From modern, metal floors and massive glass doors to old stained wood floors, and stone walls, you can get just about any look you want. Outside there are partially demolished buildings, open areas of grass, corrugated metal doors, and more. Inside you have your choice of a dozen rooms with amazing light through the original windows of the Cotton Mill.

Great opportunities for some fun family photos for holiday cards, or just because!

The date for this mini sessions extravaganza is August 28th, 2010.

Sessions will start at 9am and continue until 7pm, with sessions every 30 minutes.

Why book holiday photos in August you ask?

Well, for photographers, the holiday season starts early. Generally Holiday Photos are booked in early September, but this year mine are falling on the last weekend of August instead. On this day alone, I’ll be photographing 19 families. Each of those 19 families will have their photos edited and delivered by October 10th (6 weeks or 30 business days). This gives you time to pick or design your holiday cards in October and order them to be delivered to you in early November, and to be addressed and mailed out to your friends and family in the beginning of December.

At this time I am unsure if I will be offering a holiday portrait date in September. As with each year prior, I take the entire month of December off in order to spend time with my family and enjoy the holidays with my kids. This year, like last year, I will be taking most of the end of October and the beginning of November off in preparation for (and recovery of) the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day.

What do I get with my session?

With your session fee, you will receive a 30 minute session for up to 6 family members. Within 30 business days you will receive an email containing 12-15 fully edited high resolution JPG files, with a reprint release. You will be free to utilize these photos for personal printing, holiday cards… whatever your little heart desires :)

How much does this cost?

The session fee for this event is $70.00. This includes everything included above, as well as access to the private location that we will be utilizing as the backdrop for your photos.

How do I book?

Contact Me at Jackie@reitzphotography.com with your interest in this mini session event. Please include a time-frame that works best for you (ie: “anytime from 2pm-5pm is best for us” ) and I will respond with your appointment time and an invoice for your session fee. Session Fee payments must be received in full in order to book your appointment time. Once your payment has been received, you will receive a confirmation.

Hello, Samantha!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting little Samantha and her parents. They were a wondeful family to work with, and I have appreciated their patience so much this week in the delay of posting their preview.

One of the “joys” of having kids is that when one person gets sick, everyone gets sick. Then you just pass it back and forth for what feels like forever. That’s what our family has done for the last 2 months. Awesome. LOL

So now that at least *I* am out of the woods (for this round) I’m here, posting Samantha’s preview. :)

Matt – [DFW Dallas Area Talent Photographer]

Meet Matt, of Matt Lynn Ministries.

Matt and I met up this weekend at the CottonMill in McKinney to do some promotional photos for some upcoming events he has planned. We found lots of great opportunities for beautiful shots around sunset!

The Tilley Family – [DFW Dallas Area Family Photographer]

This weekend I met up with the Tilley family for a session at the Arboretum. We were pleasantly surprised by the weather, given out last session was canceled due to freezing cold temps!
