Jacqueline Reitz Photography - the Blog! bio picture

Welcome

Welcome to the Jacqueline Reitz Photography blog!

I'm Jacqueline Reitz and I'm a stay-at-home mom and a professional photographer. I've been photographing for nearly four years now and love it more than ever. I first became involved in photography after the birth of my son, Brendan... and the birth of my daughter, Lily, has only increased my passion for the craft. Be sure to bookmark this blog as I'm constantly hosting giveaways and posting special offers!

Also, be sure to check out the links above. If you click on "portfolio", you can check out my website which features photographs of births, maternity, newborns, children, families, engagements/couples, seniors/models, and weddings.

Oklahoma gets Sassy

A few weeks ago I traveled to Oklahoma to photograph several girls who had put together a Boudoir Party. It was *so* much fun, the location was smokin, and you can’t beat having gourmet fat free burgers, with gourmet fat free beef, gourmet fat free bacon, gourmet fat free cheese, and gourmet fat free buns afterwards. Yum!
Here’s a preview of one of my Oklahoma sessions

Rock the Boat

So we all know I’m a fan of Rocktography, but what we didn’t know is that Rocktography on Boats is even more fun than on land.

Check out these cool shots from a recent wedding we photographed.

Thanks to a client of mine, Kandice and I have been nominated for WFAA’s Best of Dallas “Wedding Photographer” category. We were entered pretty late (didn’t even know it was going on! LOL) so we only have until FRIDAY to rack up some votes.
I you could take a moment and vote for us, we would be eternally greatful!

Mr + Mrs Sanborn - [DFW Dallas Wedding Photographer]

Saturday was a day full of beer and music…. and beer and dogs…. and beer and hay!
What more could you ask for?
Saturday afternoon, Kandice and I loaded up and headed down to Mansfield for the wedding of Lauren and Kurt.
Their wedding was an amazing mixture of country fun (on a ranch!) and modern flair (hot pink sashes on the girls!)
From their pond-side ceremony with guests perched on bales of hay, to their red-barn reception complete with margarita machine and a candy/treat bar, not one detail was missed. I was in awe!

First, as usual, Kandice and I had to sneak off for a little rocktography!

In addition to the ring bling, Lauren wore a beautiful necklace and earrings…. both of which were passed down from grandmothers. In fact, the necklace included a stone from her grandmothers original engagement ring!!

but some bling was straight from the bride!

Next we headed out into the heat for the ceremony

Then off for some bridal party shots!

As the sun began to set, everyone scooted back outside for a slideshow of photos from the bride and grooms childhoods.

And last, but never least, we snuck the bride and groom away for some after-dark photos!

Congratulations Lauren and Kurt! Your wedding was beautiful, and I hope your honeymoon goes just as smoothly!

Summer’s gettin’ married! - [DFW Dallas Wedding Photographer]

Meet Summer. She’s one of those girls you wish you could hate because she’s alarmingly beautiful. But then you talk to her and realize she’s one of the most sweet, polite and gracious people you’ve ever met, and you can’t help but just be smitten with her.
Summer is one of the brides Kandice and I will be working with in September, and we instantly clicked with her. Her personality just rocks!
So when Summer emailed me months ago, wanting to book bridal photos in downtown Dallas, I was beyond excited! Then the day got here, and the Weather Channel had us all in a tizzy, threatening to storm all afternoon.
We were so excited when the forecast turned out to be totally wrong, and we headed out into the June sunshine and 100 degree heat for 3 hours. Poor Summer in her dress and petticoat!
First we hit up Deep Ellum for some graffiti and bright walls, then went to uptown to catch the trolley for a bit!

And on the way back to our cars, Summer stumbled upon a piece of paper which ironically had only one word written on it: Dustin. The name of her soon-to-be-Groom! What a strange twist! We just had to get a shot with it!

Baby Ayden - [DFW Dallas Newborn Photographer]

Last week I posted a preview of a hospital session for Baby Ayden and his mama Annette.
Today you get to see his actual newborn session!!
This weekend I met up with Ayden’s family at their house to snuggle their baby… and then get peed on… a lot. LOL.
Annette seemed a little doubtful when I told her that I would get peed on at least once. And Mr. Ayden certainly did not diappoint.
Sorry for all the laundry I’m sure you spent the evening doing, Annette!

Emily and Kate - [DFW Dallas Childrens Photographer]

My last mini session on Saturday was with Emily and Kate. Emily and Kate were a riot and, between swapping who got to hold hands with who, we were able to explore downtown Dallas for a while!

Savannah in Deep Ellum - [DFW Dallas Childrens Photographer]

Savannah and I haven’t seen each other since April Bluebonnet Sessions, but it was great to get to work with her again.
As with before, she came stylin with a fabulous pair of shoes.

Saturday with Ashley and Zach - [DFW Dallas Childrens Photographer]

My blog has been being funky all night, so hang in there with me while I try to get this posted for the night.
Ashley and Zach met up with me on Saturday in Deep Ellum.
It was my first time working with both of them, but ohmygosh, how adorable are they?!
